What veneers are
Veneers are thin coverings bonded to the front of your teeth to change their shape, colour or length. We offer two kinds: porcelain veneers, made for you in our own in-house lab, and composite veneers, built up directly on the tooth in one visit.
Who veneers can suit
Veneers can suit people with chipped, worn, discoloured or uneven front teeth, or small gaps. They are not right for everyone. Teeth need to be healthy, gums need to be healthy, and veneers may not suit people who grind heavily. If crooked teeth are the main concern, Invisalign may be a better first step. We talk through every option at your consultation, including leaving your teeth as they are.
Porcelain or composite?
Porcelain veneers
Made in our lab from a digital scan of your teeth. They resist staining and can last many years with good care. A small amount of tooth surface is usually removed, so this is a permanent change. Usually two to three visits.
Composite veneers
Tooth-coloured resin shaped directly on your teeth, often in one visit. Usually little or no tooth needs to be removed. They are less costly to start with, but they can stain or chip and need polishing or repair over time.
The steps
1. Consultation and assessment: we examine your teeth and gums, talk about what you want, and take a digital iTero scan.
2. Your written quote: you receive a written plan and quote before anything is booked.
3. Preparation and design: for porcelain, the teeth are prepared and our lab makes your veneers; for composite, they are shaped at the chair.
4. Fitting and review: we fit, check your bite and see you again to make sure everything feels right.

Risks and looking after veneers
Like any dental treatment, veneers carry risks, including tooth sensitivity, chipping, a veneer coming loose, or a change in how your bite feels. Porcelain veneers involve removing some tooth surface and are not reversible. Brush, clean between your teeth, wear a night guard if we recommend one, and keep your regular check-ups.
